CEO Report - Global-MIX Review April 2008
Global-MIX started commercial trading in Oct 2004 with 4 clients and delivering some 30,000 to 40,000 clips of video per month, as of Jan 2008 we are running over 200 services through our platform and now delivering over 110 million streams per month. As a mark of our progress on the 29th of February this year we shipped 10.5 Terra Bytes of data traffic in 1 day.
While this achievement is fantastic the last 18 months has been a time of great change and some re-focusing of the business was required. In early 2007 the team focused its attention on increasing our sales and planning for delivery of increased traffic.
Below I have listed our main (but by no means all) achievements so far:-

June
We completed the Radica migration project by re-locating their equipment into our POP at Memaco House. Sue Wright joined the team as our Commercial Manager and started to get the money flowing in faster!
July
Won contract from a Re-seller to deliver a wine sales channel. Won contract from Transact Group to deliver 10 TV channels and Arqiva became a supplier providing high quality down-link and Encoding from Hot bird. Won contract from C Music to install SDI play-out server in Tel Aviv for up linking to Eutel Sat to deliver contribution feed to IPTV stations across Asia.

September
We started down linking satellite feeds from Hot Bird at Ruscombe (for Transact) and encoding in H263 for delivery to 3G Mobile networks. Completed move to our new caged area in Memaco House, where we now have 3 full racks in our own space and client racks in general space.

Won contract from C Music for SDI play-out server in Paris for up linking to Eutel-Sat’s Eurobird9 to deliver contribution feeds to IPTV stations across Europe & North Africa including UPC.
November
Shift of “network support” provision from partner to in-house and using NetSumo as 2nd line only. GMIX opened London Office in conjunction with Information TV & C Music. Agreed Feature Film licensing from major studio’s with GMIX partner.
December 2007
We vastly improved our understanding of traffic patterns and ability to dynamically engineer traffic “on the fly”.
GMIX won contract for a Christian live TV channel & VoD services.
January 2008
GMIX won the North One contract for the WRC radio streams. GMIX completed the re-organisation, giving improved efficiencies and processes through clear roles & responsibilities. Now we have firmly established the four focuses of GMIX as Global-MIX Internet Broadcasting (CDN), Global-MIX Media Services, Global-MIX Outside Broadcasting with our partner M3U.com & Global-MIX Consulting Services. GMIX Consulting division was formally created. We also opened a small office in Brighton, which reflects our family friendly policy, now that all our staff in Brighton have young children.
February
Direct peering established with the majority of our top destinations, including BT since Feb ’08. We also won the Transact down link & encoding business for 3G Mobile networks which in turn meant a re-engineering of the Satellite & IT infrastructure at Ruscombe.
March
We doubled the number of multicast peerings over the past 4 months and are now in discussions with some of the largest ISP's to begin trials of full multicast service in their Access networks.
I think you will all agree that this is a phenomenal achievement by the whole team and we thank you all for you support which allows us to keep delivering. However this growth brings with it different challenges and these now need to be addressed to allow continued growth
.Where next for Global-MIX
The Business plan for 2008/2009 will see GMIX again concentrating on further building of our core business, but we have identified some areas where we need further investment to achieve this.
These break down into 3 main areas
Looking at the end of next year, the company should be in a good position to make another stepped change both in terms of revenue growths and possible expansion.
Summary
Global-MIX is now a very different company from its humble start 4 years ago; with a team of 8 full time staff we have now delivered significant results and are now aiming to double our turnover year on year. With your continued support we are determined to make this company something which we can all be even prouder of.
